Watching LA and Dayton and their arena is sold out with gigantic student section. Amazing what winning does, Going to Uic games is the equivalent of going To the library excitement wise

Loyola games were like that once upon a time.
Winning helps it all. We have a ton more students at UIC.
The one thing we don’t have compared to a great number of schools is history - partly due to lack of athletic winning in the past but also we are so young compared to many.
Just ask any Loyola fan of their national title

Uic John we may have more students but do any of them care about hoops? Sure doesn't seem that way,

But have we given them a reason to?
If we a) win and b) make going to games fun and cool (basically to hand in hand) then I think they’d care.
Georgia Tech my senior year had 7,800 fans. Of course, they were #3 at the time but it made it fun and they had a good record the year before.

Even when the games weren’t crazy packed, we still got a real ~2,000 per game. And the student section wasn’t crazy but we’d have at least some of us and we would get loud. I mean, it was fun. Don’t students want that anymore? Ha.
But attendance issues aren’t just us. Was a long read on Missouri State attendance issues a few weeks ago.

I tuned in for a couple minutes. Lots of Dayton fans there as well. But the difference between UIC and Loyola is that Loyola puts opposing fans in the way high up seats behind the basket. UIC inexcusably sells opponents front row seats, other premium seats, and lets them dance and celebrate on our floor and party in the Dragon’s Den. With decisions like that being made, can we trust our AD to hire another head basketball coach?

It was 80-20 Loyola or 90-10 fans. The opposing teams fans can sit anywhere because there are usually 500 Uic fans total there lol.
