I’ve read in multiple spots now that UIC needs to spend more if they want to compete. I’ve seen it here, on Twitter…I think even the March to the Arch guys mentioned it. I’m not sure what the latest numbers are, but in 2022, here’s how the Valley stacked up. 1. Bradley (134 overall) - 2.68 mil 2. Drake (140) - 2.6 3. UIC (144) - 2.51 4. UNI (150) - 2.41 5. Belmont (152) - 2.39 6. Missouri St (163) - 2.21 7. Valpo (168) - 2.16 8. Illinois St (169) - 2.13 9. SIU (200) - 1.89 10. Evansville (213) - 1.83 11. Indiana St (222) - 1.68 12. Murray St (242) - 1.57 www.three-man-weave.com/3mw/college-basketball-budgets-2022Numbers may have changed since then but I can’t imagine we have significantly dropped. I’m fairly sure our coaching salary is competitive as well. It seems to me that we are spending. The problem is we’re definitely not getting our money’s worth. Where are we on NIL? Crickets. I see things pop up here and there for other schools/players, but I’ve never heard about what our Collective is doing. It would be nice to know what is being collected and how it’s being used. If people knew it wasn’t just a black hole, they might be more likely to give. Does anyone give monthly on there? Do they even have player exclusive interviews or is it just advertised without ever following through?….like a lot of things at UIC, they throw so much crap against the wall to see what will stick and 90% of these things are just never consistently implemented.

That is certainly interesting. I’m guessing that is the basketball team budget - travel expenses, equipment, etc?
Because one thing that is awful and isn’t part of that is the game day experience. Get student and fans excited. I love the promotions for the first 500 students and then we get 4.
And as you mention, the NIL. Do we even have one?
And just the overall low expectations. Just feel like UIC is a grade school operation compared to even out MVC peers.
