Chuck when I say biggest I mean most important. Bold claim, and I hope it turns out to be correct. But we won’t know until his UIC career is over. A good big man can be program-changing. Ideally, he has a similar effect as another Cam did for Loyola…Cam Krutwig. Just an outstanding college basketball player that may arguably be their most important player ever. Contributed, and stayed with the team that developed him…didn’t jump ship if/when bigger schools started calling. Right now though, in my eyes, hard to say most important since Ford…important, but bigger than Banks and Bailey? Robo Kreps was 2nd in voting behind Derrick Rose for Mr. Basketball in Illinois.

It's hard to make these comparisons in such different eras. Where we are right now, I think it was incredibly important to bring in a big man that can create a presence down low while also being a threat to shoot the ball. I think that will be great for where college basketball is now as well as what Coach Yak wants to do on the court.
Additionally, it's hard to compare because he's a recruit that hasn't played a game for us and comparing him to guys whose careers have ended. Ced Banks, for example, was a top 25 national recruit by some sites. An often overlooked player of that era was Aaron Carr, who was very highly ranked. Dikembe Dixson had several P5 offers. Robo Kreps was mentioned as well.
I'm very excited about all of our incoming Frosh and think all of them can be difference makers but definitely haven't had size like this on the court in a while (maybe Scott Van De Meer?)

“Actually Thor Solverson was 6'11". He played from '97/'98-'01/'02.”
Love a good Thor Solverson reference!

Veteran point guard with one year left to mentor Jalen Jackson. Averaged 14 a game. Flames have 3 schollies remaining, 4 if Damaria doesn't come back.

Trevante put up good numbers last year at PG. 14 points, 5 boards, 3.7 assists. Not too excited about the 3.5 turnovers, but Idaho fans on their message board say good things about him. He basically exploded last year after not contributing much for 3 seasons at San Francisco.
So what else do we need?
Another big - Hima? Another guard, preferably a shooter Damaria or another scoring guard The best remaining player we can get?

No doubt Banks was a phenomenal recruit, as was Miller. I just think it’s absolutely mandatory to have size in the MVC and very rare for Uic to get a big kid With this much potential. Fens looks like he can shoot and he’s already 240 as a freshman. Will be best their best player probably not but like Krutwig was for Loyola he could be huge setting picks, hitting jumpers and providing a much needed inside presence.

Well, we got our veteran PG that we all wanted and predicted. I still feel as though Hima is almost a given but we will see.

Definitely a late bloomer and made his way to All State. If we have him for four years (I know, but the reality of college basketball) he has all of the makings of an all timer for us. I do believe that.

Looks like we’re open to bringing in another freshman. He looks explosive and intense and is built to play day 1.

Arkansas Pine Bluff transfer Brandon Brown tells us he's heard from UIC and a bunch of D2s.
Brown averaged 9.5PPG and 7.1RPG this past season at UAPB
Be exactly impressive company for us to be mentioned with…
